United Health Centers of the San Joaquin Valley (UHC) was founded in 1971 by community grassroots leaders determined to bring affordable care to farm-worker and rural families. Headquartered in Fresno, UHC has since grown into a federally qualified health-center network offering comprehensive health care that focuses on combating high infant morbidity and mortality rates, lack of medical and dental services, and the inaccessibility of affordable health care to patients throughout California’s Central Valley.
UHC utilized NMTC financing to support the operations at four clinics in Huron, Corcoran, Parlier, and Minnewawa, together spanning over 60,000 sq. ft. and facilitating more than 164,000 patient visits each year for over 34,000 patients. Funding will strengthen UHC and further assure it is well equipped to continue delivering comprehensive care to community residents.
