The SEED School of Los Angeles County (SEED LA) is the county’s first college-prep public boarding school, offering a 24-hour learning environment that integrates rigorous academics with a supportive residential program. As part of the national SEED network, SEED LA prepares students for college and career success with a focus on transportation infrastructure, STEM, and the humanities.
Located in South Los Angeles, SEED LA’s 84,000 sq. ft. campus includes 20 classrooms, science labs, dormitories, a dining hall, a full gym, a library, and a rooftop recreation space with an edible garden. SEED LA is utilizing New Markets Tax Credit financing - enabled by ExED - to support the ongoing operations of the school and continued growth in enrollment and staffing.
Since opening in August 2022 with its founding class of 125 ninth-grade students, SEED LA has expanded annually, with full enrollment (grades 9–12) expected by the fall of 2025.
